Ci sto? Affare fatica! – Let’s do the common good (2026 ed.)
The project, funded by the Marche Region and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, aims to encourage young people to make the most of their summer break. Through active citizenship and the care of public goods, participants engage in manual labor and community service, guided by adult mentors and local non-profits.
The initiative bridges the gap between generations, promoting the value of manual work and fostering a sense of responsibility toward one’s own territory.
Key goals
Intergenerational connection: Bringing together youth and experienced “handymen”;
Valorizing effort: rediscovering the satisfaction of manual labor and commitment;
Educational summer: transforming “empty” summer time into a meaningful group experience;
Community care: teaching the younger generation to protect and restore local public spaces.
How it works
1.Territorial networking: collaboration with local authorities, schools, and NGOs to identify projects and recruit tutors and expert handymen;
2.Registration: young people aged 14–20 sign up via www.cistoaffarefatica.it for one or more weeks during June and July;
3.The teams: small groups of 10 participants are led by a Tutor (18–35 years old) and an “Handyman” (a master of craft providing technical skills like carpentry, painting, or gardening);
4.Weekly sessions: activities take place Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
5. Rewards: as a token of appreciation for their effort, participants receive “Work vouchers” (weekly value of €75 for participants and €150 for tutors) redeemable at partner shops for books, clothing, groceries, or leisure activities.
